Spicy Bacon Broccoli Chicken Pasta

On Saturday I got a gift! I got the house to myself. So in true lazy Saturday fashion, I watched football, baked cookies, fell asleep on the couch watching a movie, and made Spicy Bacon Broccoli Chicken Pasta. Lazy Saturdays are my favorite. As much as I enjoy being with others, I love to have a day to myself. I turned on music, poured some wine and made this pasta while baking cookies.

The best part of making Spicy Bacon Broccoli Chicken Pasta is that it you make it in one pan! I hate to do dishes, so anything I can make with hardly any dishes is the best! Spicy Bacon Broccoli Chicken Pasta has just enough heat to warm you but not be overwhelming. It is creamy, cheesy and delicious.

Spicy Bacon Broccoli Chicken Pasta

The first step is to cook the bacon. My favorite bacon to use is Hormel Black Label Premium Jalapeño Bacon because I love the flavor and heat that this bacon brings to the dish. I like to cook the bacon first so that I can use the grease to cook the chicken. Using the grease to cook other things adds some great seasoning. After you get done put the bacon on a paper towel to get rid of some of the grease and drain some of the grease from the pan.


The next thing you do is cook the chicken. I like to season my chicken with Lawry’s seasoning salt and pepper. Cook the chicken and then place it with the bacon.

img_1767Time to cook the veggies, I like to pretend that adding veggies makes it healthy. Yeah right! This is definitely a comfort dish! Cook the broccoli and onions until they are tender and then add them to the meat.


The next step is my favorite technique, which is cooking the pasta in flavored liquids instead of water. Cooking the pasta in chicken broth, heavy cream, and rotel add flavor and richness to this dish. It also makes it easy, since you don’t have to make a roux or drain the pasta. Bring the pasta and liquids to a boil and then cover and simmer for 15 minutes.


Next add the meat and veggies to the tender pasta stir and warm for 1-2 minutes.


Next add the cheese and stir until it is melted and creamy!


The last step is the best!! It’s the easiest too. Serve and ENJOY!
